The 2014 Fall semester is back and in full swing again! The kids are back from visiting relatives, going to their summer camps, and also out of the Holmes Stamp & Sign break room (at least until our annual school field trip happens in a few weeks)! A few weeks ago, all of us parents put in a little more time before leaving for work in the morning just to make sure the lunches are packed, and no folder, backpack or anything else was forgotten before the kids headed off on their first day of school. And we know that we weren't alone.
Given that our company has served as a staple to this city for over 60 years, we are all very aware of anything new and exciting coming to our streets here in Jacksonville Florida. Whether it’s a new building downtown, or the ever popular One Spark reappearing and winding its way through our streets, we usually have all the details.
Is it really July 4th already?! It feels like just last week we were freezing in our long sleeved shirts and heavy coats! Time really does fly when you’re having fun – and we've been having a blast! Remember our Bring Your Dog To Work Day post?
This past Friday was Bring Your Dog To Work Day at Holmes Stamp & Sign! The dogs were barking, the laser engravers were engraving, and everyone was smiling ear to ear. With over 60 animal loving employee’s, we knew Friday wasn't going to be a walk in the park, but for some this is the highlight of the year! And even though our factory floors and counter tops may had some out of place furry faces, don’t think for a second that we were too distracted to get your order out on time!
With a new graduation ceremony listed seemingly every day in our papers and online events category here in Jacksonville, we've all got graduations on the brain! Being a family friendly business, we’re used to seeing our employee’s kids around the office from time to time, or drawing masterpieces on our massive whiteboard in the break room. We’ve watched these kids grow up! And we know that we’re not the only ones who can’t believe how fast time flies when we see or hear that they’ve reached a new milestone in their life. These day’s it seems like there’s a graduation for everything but at the same time, maybe it’s for the best that we find more things in life to celebrate.
Once a year the downtown Jacksonville streets are taken over by the famous One Spark event. Various venues and ‘creators’ come together in hopes of raising money for creativity, innovative ideas, bright shining new concepts, and just all around good causes in need of funding. Over the years, we’ve seen One Spark come and go and while we tend to be a great big bunch of do-gooders, we realized we didn’t seem to be doing too much good.
Over the years, people may have come and gone but the underlying ideals and principals behind Holmes Stamp & Sign have remained the same. Throughout the course of our astounding 60 year history, we have survived endless political debates, societal changes, and massive cultural shifts. But did we fight them? No- we welcomed them.
Lion, and tiger’s, and bear’s! There’s no place like home for us here at Holmes Stamp & Sign in Jacksonville, FL. We've got the sun, the sand, the surf, an eclectic downtown and beach atmosphere- not to mention a seriously amazing Zoo!
Throughout the history of the Holmes Stamp & Sign company, we have always prided ourselves on our outstanding customer service and quality products. We work hard providing our customer with the best designs we can imagine and match them with the best prices we can offer. We’re pretty proud of ourselves and apparently you guys are too!
While November is typically known for cooler temperatures, family gatherings, Black Friday, and monstrous amounts of turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes (otherwise known as Thanksgiving dinner). November has also become known more recently for yet another reason- "No Shave November". The very mention of it makes wives and girlfriends groan, and roll their eyes in unison. The men get excited and steel the resolve to go the entire month of November without shaving.
Every year, we here at Holmes Stamp & Sign, play host to the first graders of Jacksonville Beach Elementary School. We clean up our work spaces, suck in our guts and comb our hair, because for at least one day a year, we get to be role models. Okay, so we’re not really that bad- but we really do clean up our space and make sure that everything is in its proper place because when over a hundred first graders come bursting through our doors, there’s no telling what could happen.
Ever seen a Google Maps Street View car driving around? Well our CEO Bryan Croft did! We've always wondered what these cars look like and here one is! Bryan managed to catch up the the man behind the wheel later on, and apparently there are about 10 cars driving around the entire country all the time and utilize multiple laptops in the car in order to do their job. What a cool sighting! Thanks for sharing Bryan! And yes..we do call our CEO by his first name..because he's just cool like that.
